Grounded Mothers


Grounded Mothers provides new mothers* with the knowledge, support and tools to honour their wellbeing and embrace the journey of motherhood. We understand the unique needs of new mothers, which is why our six week workshop series is specifically tailored to cater to new mums and their little ones from six weeks, to four months postpartum.

Each 75-minute session is carefully curated to address the different aspects of postnatal recovery. Here's what you can expect:

  • Education: Gain valuable insights through informative sessions covering essential topics for postnatal recovery. From strengthening your pelvic floor muscles to practices that support your nervous system, we’ve got you covered.

  • Movement: Our expert-led exercises and practical sessions are designed to help you regain strength and improve mobility, ensuring a smooth transition into motherhood.

  • Circle Time: Step into a safe and supportive group where you can share your experiences and build connections with other mothers who understand your journey.

Our workshops also include:

  • Pre-recorded videos

  • Q&A sessions with women's health physio, Laura Ham

  • Handouts related to weekly topics

  • Yoga sequences

  • Breathwork (pranayama)

  • Meditation

  • Community connection

Over the course of the 6-week series, we'll delve into a range of topics to ensure a holistic approach to your wellbeing. Here's a glimpse into what we'll cover:

  • Week One - Pelvic Floor: Strengthen your pelvic floor and learn techniques to manage bladder and bowel habits, and returning to sex comfortably.

  • Week Two - Upper Back & Wrists: Learn strategies to help take care of your neck and upper back spine, as well as different baby lifting techniques, stretches and exercises to prevent and manage wrist pain.

  • Week Three - Lower Back and Hips: Learn strategies to care for your back and hips with advice regarding lifting techniques, tips for standing posture and use of baby carrier. We also share useful stretches to help ease any lumbar spine or hip discomfort.

  • Week Four - Abdominal Rehabilitation & Managing Diastasis: Learn how to effectively activate your core muscles. We’ll discuss diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and guide you through management techniques for optimising your abdominal recovery.

  • Week Five - Chest Care: Learn strategies for managing mastitis and maintaining chest health to help support your feeding journey. This week we will discuss various feeding positions for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding mums and bubs.

  • Week Six - Wellbeing: Prioritise your wellbeing with movement practices, meditation, and mindfulness to help navigate the challenges of motherhood. Explore helpful resources for mental health support.
